Sat and stared at my running shoes for 5 minutes deciding whether or not I wanted to run.  One missed run easily becomes two which then becomes a habit.  I knew I would regret not running so I got my unmotivated butt out the door and got in a few miles.

The Ogden marathon is expected to sell out in the next few days.  I do not know if I should sign up or not.  I don't want to waste the money and would hate to take a spot away from somebody who really wants to run it.  How am I supposed to know what I want to do next May?  Please provide me with a compelling argument as to why I should just sign up.

Because it's an awesome race and a lot of your friends will be there either running or cheering you on.

cause you want a reason to pound out the miles in the cold this winter :)

I just signed up! But then I'm not a woman of sound mind and reasoning like you! :)

Did you just refer to me as a "woman of sound mind and reasoning"?

You'll be glad you did.

well, you should sign up so that you don't regret not signing up. then again, who knows what will happen between now and next may. i wish marathons didn't sell out so fast these days. i am trying to decide if i want to commit to boston, but there is a lot of risk involved when you have to sign up so early.

sorry, that wasn't very compelling. let me try again:

do it because you know it will be fun. in a painful sort of way. :)
