Another run in a blizzard. Of course it seems to snow the hardest while I am out running. It completely stopped as my run ended. Running 3 outside loops and 3 inside loops around the neighborhood gives me 9 miles and leaves 1/4 mile to walk and cool down. I'm going to have to come up with ways to keep things interesting during the laps. Other than a little hamstring pain, I feel pretty good physically. My goal for the week is to try to get to bed early so I will be well rested for Striders and UVM.

Finished the month with 329.7 miles which is a record month by far.  I have never gone over 300 miles (previous high was 285).  Yesterday was the only day of the month that I did not run.  There was not a lot of speed work but hopefully the miles will be good for me.

Total Time: 1:07:20 ( 7:29/mile)

Congratulations on a huge month Andy. You are really on a roll and I can't wait to see your next marathon time. Are you running the Ogden full?

From Andy on Mon, Mar 31, 2008 at 12:07:16

Yes I'm running the Ogden full. It will be interesting to see what a lot of miles with little speed work will get me.

Good job on a great month of training. It will surely be interesting to see what you can do at Striders this weekend and at the Ogden full. From what I've seen with other runners, you can get quite a bit of speed out of nothing but high mileage base with maybe a few tempos thrown in here and there. Hope I can keep up with you at Striders, only 269 miles for me in March.

Great month and incredible mileage Andy. Will you taper at all for the race Saturday?

From Andy on Tue, Apr 01, 2008 at 12:30:14

Cal -

I am reducing my mileage and intensity leading up to the race this Saturday and the race the Saturday after that. I was going to train through these races in preparation for Ogden but decided that it was better to back off a little.
