Really couldn't decide what I wanted to run today.  I started out running 3 miles really easy then thought about running some quicker miles.  Ran 2 miles at around 7:00/mile pace and I found myself at my 8 mile turn off point.  Decided that I wanted to turn this into a little longer run so I backed off the pace.  I thought about the cougar challenge and realized that my longest run this month has been 12 miles.  Thought that I had to stretch the run out to get to 13.1.  The pace was slow and I didn't feel great but I got the miles in.

Sounds fun. I often fell a need to follow a training plan just so I can get myself out the door, but I really like just making up runs on the fly.

Good on you for remembering Cougars half marathon challenge. Way to get the miles in.

What is the Cougars half marathon challenge?

From Michelle N. on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 12:16:24

Wowwie! Nice miles for a cold December morning.

3000+ miles and almost not make the Cougar Challange. That would be unthinkable.

Great job Andy. I don't think I'll meet Cougar's challenge this month.

Missee - On another forum, one of the members (Cougar) set out the challenge to run the half marathon distance at least once a month for each month in 2008. At first I assumed that I wouldn't have much of a problem meeting the goal but since I have been in recovery mode for 3 months I almost didn't make it.

See ... you're amazing!

Very impressive Andy!

Good job on meeting the challenge. I am glad I finished on Saturday, Kimmy is going to do it tonight on the treadmill :(

CONGRATS Andy! Perfect day for a half mary run.
