My legs are still wiped out.  They feel completely dead.  Felt alright for the first mile then was able to pick up the pace for a mile or two then my legs were completely gone.  This recovery is taking a little longer than expected.

Well I have been doing a full recovery. A less active one. Just it easy. It so hard to though. The one day I ran last week I had such a hard time staying slower.

Two fast marathons in two week will do that to you Andy. With no big races on the horizon I would just continue to take it easy until the legs feel some life again.

Paul - That's what I keep telling myself. I do not have any races in the near future so I can take it easy for as long as I want. What worries me is that I should not be feeling this wiped out. It is probably my body's way of forcing me to take it easy.

I've felt like I was on the verge of a cold, so I'm trying not to push it either, though I don't want to do nothing. I'm sorry you don't have the luxury of going to a gym for a bit of cross training in the warmth. If you didn't have to get your kids off to school you could come to step aerobics with me Wednesday (yeah, I make Richard Simmons proud).

That is what SG does to you. I recovered much fater after my other marathons this year, but there is something about this one that just takes it out of your legs. Just take it easy and don't stress.

Andy I've also noticed this marathon really wiped me out, much more so than the last time I ran it. I think something to do with the cold weather, cold muscles, and cramping just made it so our bodies took an extra-ordinary beating.

Good luck with the recovery, we'll all be just fine taking it easy for a few weeks or even longer if need be.

I took it a bit easier than you last week, but I'm still feeling it a bit in my calves. Take a break and do some cross training. It really helps.
