I had to move my scheduled 15 miler to tomorrow because I had a meeting at work early this morning.  After the run I found out that the meeting was rescheduled for tomorrow.  I feel pretty wiped out so it's probably a good thing that I didn't put in the higher mileage.  The higher mileage over the past few weeks is starting to take it's toll.  I ran laps around the extended neighborhood loop (1.66 miles instead of 1.45 miles).

Andy are you going to taper any for the race next week? Sounds like your body might be wanting at least a mini-taper.

Have you run Striders 1/2 marathon before? I've done Ogden marathon before but not for a few years and I can't remember a whole lot. I'm trying to figure out the best methodology to run Strider's, I would imagine the 1st 1/2 with the downhill is going to be quite a bit speedier than the last half.

I was thinking of training through Striders and the Utah Valley marathon but am now thinking of using a traditional taper going into Utah Valley (which is the week after Striders). This will give me a little recovery time for Striders. I haven't taken a day off in 5 weeks and the last 3 weeks have been my highest mileage weeks ever so I am definitely due for a cutback.

I have not run the half marathon before but did run the Ogden marathon 2 years ago. I agree that the first half should be faster but probably not a ton faster. I don't remember the downhill being that significant.
