MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

I know that I don't post on as many blogs as I should but wanted everybody to know that I really appreciate all of the support that I get from the blog.  Even though I have only met some of you a time or two, the relationships that I have developed on the blog have meant a lot to me.  I hope that everyone has a great Christmas!

I've never run on Christmas before but I had a couple of hours to kill this year so I decided to go for a run.  Since it was Christmas and I would be hitting 3,000 miles during this run I wanted it to be an adventure.  I drove up to the BST trailhead by Eaglewood golf course and figured that running on a snowy trail would be fun.  Running uphill, into the wind (gusting up to 40 or 50 mph), in a foot of snow made it much more of an adventure than I planned.  The pace was very slow and at times I had to walk because the snow was too deep.  I got excited a couple of times when I saw the trail was clear for a stretch until I realized that the reason the trail was cleared was because the wind was blowing so hard.  Got to the antennas hoping to see a glorious view of the valley but it was too cloudy and wasn't much of a view (see picture below).  Hung out at the top for a while then headed back to the car.  It was a fun run and was nice to get out.

Here is a picture of me at mile 3,000.

Awsome Andy! Merry Christmas. I didn't check anyone else's blog today, but I wanted to read your 3000 mile adventure and it didn't dissapoint. You are an inspiration to us all and as I just said to my wife, you will always have a special place in my running heart since you helped me get to that sub 3 goal by allowing me to follow you most the way through SGM. Congratulations. You rock!!!!

Congratulations Andy! That's a whole lot a left, right, repeat.

I know that section of trail well and I've run it in similar conditions. It can be fun, exhilarating, and miserable.... a great way to celebrate 3,000 miles.
