Tough run today.  Met Tara at LPT and it was chilly.  It has to warm up to shorts and short sleeve shirt running weather eventually.  First 2 miles were a little faster than we usually start (8:00/mile) and it took way too much effort.  The pace got progressively faster throughout the run.  I think we had a 7:30, 7:20 a couple of 7:10's and a 7:00.  It was at that point that Tara decided to make it interesting.  Last 2 miles were around 6:40/mile.  She dropped the hammer with 1/2 mile to go and I was unable to respond.  I held it around 6:40ish but she must have been around 6:20ish. Finsihed with 9 miles at 7:15/mile pace.  This is the exact type of run that I need to start doing in order to get used to the quicker pace again.

Andy, I had no idea you were ever uncomfortable. First of all, you never breath, which is weird. Then you never complain, which is extra weird. Plus you talked the whole time with me, or I talked the whole time, I can't remember. I'm not really sure why we ran that fast today. Must have been the V8 wearing off on us both. I had no idea we were even going that fast until I looked at my splits at home. Why again did we do that? Must be good. I like progressive runs much more than solid even tempo runs. Those kill me.

The effort was good. It is what we need to start doing more often. It kind of sounds like you are trying to say that I am weird.

Weirdo, I'm not sure how you got that.

I've got to go track my 10,000 steps for the day.
