One of the most unevenbtful pacing jobs I've had.  I didn't have anybody run with me for the entire race.  Makes me wonder if it really even happened.  My first mile was a liitel fast.  That gave me a 15 second cushion that I held for most of the race.  The 7th mile contains the "sprintosaurus" which is a special award for the fastest half mile. Since I wasn't running with anybody I decided to push the pace.  DIdn't go all out but it was close.  Ran the half mile in 2:30.  At the end of this stretch, I stopped and waited 90 seconds to get back on track.  From here to the end I was within a couple of seconds of where I was supposesd to be at every mile marker.  Ran the last mile a little faster so I would have a bufferr in case the course didn't measure correctly.

So did you get the award? I'm sure no one ran that fast. That is one speedy 800m! Geeze. I always think its funny how you pretend to be more out of shape than you really are. Maybe it's just modesty:)

Some kid who ran the half marathon in 3 hours ran the half mile in 2:02. I could have gone a bit faster but nowhere near that fast. It was aided so I really am morbidly obese and woefully out of shape.
